On Good Friday, 25th March 2016, Laverton Skate Centre returns to Good Friday Appeal's "Kid's Day Out" to raise thousands upon thousands of dollars for the Royal Children's Hospital! How? Doing what we do best... Skating! Bring your own skates or blades to Kid's Day Out and avoid the hire skate queues! Doors open 10am with 45 minute sessions across the day, just $5 per skater, per session, featuring latest chart songs and classic retro hits, plus cool skate demonstrations! Skate hire available. Features a smaller beginners rink and a larger rink for competent skaters. See you there!

Entry is FREE - You do not need to book or buy tickets. Participation in activities by donation to the Good Friday Appeal.

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) will be transformed into a wonderland for kids, with a giant roller-skating rink, laser skirmish, sports clinics, the popular Teddy Bear Hospital, kids cooking classes, rides, music and dancing and so much more.

Entry to the Kids Day Out is free, participation in activities is by donation.

The Good Friday Appeal telethon will be broadcast live across Victoria all day from the Kids Day Out. The telethon will continue into the evening with a Charity Gala featuring performances by some of the biggest names in Australian entertainment. Please stay tuned to purchase tickets to the Charity Gala.

How to get to the Kids Day Out

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is located on Clarendon Street, South Wharf, next to the Yarra River.

TRAM: Trams 96, 112 or 109 down Spencer/Clarendon Street stop at the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC. 

TRAIN: The closest train station is Southern Cross Station – then catch one of the above trams or take a 10 minute walk from the station. 

PARKING: There will be limited parking at MCEC, so we recommend catching public transport if you can.
